They manufacture steel components. Their office is quite a surprise

The office section of ATT INOX, a company specialising in the manufacture of steel components, comprises 1,600 square metres of modern space designed to meet the need for a complete overhaul of the existing working environment. The investors wanted to move away from the sombre colours and dimly lit rooms of the old headquarters, replacing them with a brighter, more welcoming interior inspired by Scandinavian design – an aesthetic that the company’s management particularly appreciated during visits to the business lounge at Helsinki Airport.

The architects at AAG ARCH took these expectations as a starting point for creating a space that combines lightness and cosiness with distinctive accents reflecting the brand’s identity. One of the key objectives was the subtle incorporation of the colour orange (present in ATT INOX’s visual identity) and stainless steel elements, which naturally reflect the company’s business profile. The design also features numerous products manufactured by the client themselves, including kitchen worktops, linear drains and solid washbasins in the toilets, which emphasise the company’s character and technological expertise.

Colour for function

Rich shades of orange run throughout the design – as tiles in the ladies’ toilets, grout in the kitchen, the stairwell’s skirting, and the light fittings in the lobby reception area. The concept involves a deliberate use of colour throughout the interiors: the rooms where users spend the most time are the most neutral, whilst spaces used only occasionally have been given more intense colours, patterns and textures. The toilets are therefore the most colour-rich, followed by the conference rooms, and then the kitchens and communal areas. The offices remain monochromatic, complemented by lush plants collected by staff and kept in cupboards by their desks.

Conference rooms

The colour scheme of the conference rooms has been chosen with their intended use in mind. Greens, blues and greys feature in rooms designed for lengthy discussions and presentations, promoting concentration and calm work. In contrast, the single-colour pumpkin-hued room has been designed to encourage short stays – the intense shade is intended to energise users and speed up meetings.

Scandinavian inspiration

The raw ceiling has been paired with wooden cladding, creating a contrast that fits in with the design concept. The wood adds warmth to the technical character of the building and the company’s operations, whilst also evoking a Scandinavian aesthetic, which was one of the client’s key requests. As a result, the interior strikes a balance between functionality and a welcoming atmosphere.

Polish brands and details

The design focuses on Polish brands – the furniture, lighting and accessories come from Aqform, amongst others. An Italian touch is provided by the hydraulically adjustable conference tables and meeting tables in the offices from the Mara brand. The photo shoot also featured products and organisers from the Polish brand foppa, whilst the dogs of the board members provided company, adding a sense of naturalness and lightness to the project.

The ATT INOX office, designed by AAG ARCH, is an example of a space where function, colour and material come together to form a cohesive whole. The architects demonstrate that a thoughtfully designed interior can have a real impact on working comfort, build brand identity and meet users’ needs, whilst remaining distinctive and consistent in its aesthetic.
