They renovated a flat in a tenement in Praga. This is what it looks like

It has 70 sq m. The flat is located in a historic building in the Praga district of Warsaw. Its interior was designed by Sylwia Szcześniak. In her design work, she took into account the most valuable elements of the old décor, which were renovated so that they could continue to serve the tenants.

The flat is located on Jagiellońska street. Thanks to a project focused on reducing costs and preserving the original character, it was possible to create a space that combines history with a modern approach to design. Costs were kept down by the decision to refresh existing elements.

We left the old parquet floor, only sanding it, and we also kept the old interior doors, among other things, cleaning them only from white paint,’ says Sylwia Szcześniak.

The interior metamorphosis was an opportunity to make minor changes to the functional layout. The bathroom was slightly enlarged and the kitchen moved into the corridor, making it possible to gain two independent rooms. In addition, one of the entrances to the rooms was closed off to create a practical storage space. Removing the partition wall between the corridor and the living room allowed the space to be opened up and brought light into the new kitchen.

The design of the flat was developed on the principles of neuro-architecture, with an emphasis on soft lines and harmonious shapes. The designer managed to combine a classic character with a modern expression. The curves in the ceilings and mouldings are impressive. An arch was also created after the demolished wall in the corridor. The minimalist bathroom was decorated with a micro-cement finish.

An interesting feature is the RGBW LED lighting used inside, which allows you to adjust the mood to suit the moment. The modern steel finish meets the soft shapes of the furniture here. The past intertwines with modernity, just like the whole of Warsaw.
