They settled close to the forest. Colourful flat overlooking the greenery

It was designed by Zosia Niesiobędzka, who runs her own design studio CON S. The flat overlooking the forest is like an oasis, where the chosen furniture, fabrics and colours seem to soothe the senses and give a sense of relaxation.

A distinctive feature of this project is the choice of natural components. A special bond with the surrounding nature is emphasised throughout the interior. The proximity to the forest is expressed in the oak parquet flooring and oak veneers, which engage in a dialogue with the greenery of nature. To complement this natural palette, the designer chose to introduce expressive accents – shades of red ranging from almost pink to coral to intense oranges. This play of colours, combining nature with energy and modernity, creates a harmonious space.

Well thought-out functional layout

Already at the entrance, in a hall bathed in beige tones, with a concealed door structure and travertine floor, the arrangement of the space sets a certain dynamic – the asymmetrical walls, covered with a glossy coral mosaic of small ceramic elements, subtly diffuse the lime glow of the wall sconce. This precise juxtaposition of elements not only brings order to the space, but also sets the inhabitants in a mood of sophistication and contrast.

In the central part of the flat, the living area is an exemplary combination of function and form. On one side, a mosaic structure breaks up the homogeneous built-in units serving as utility storage and the diagonal bar, which flows seamlessly into the kitchen space. The kitchen is designed as a composition of solids – the lower part made of wood connects organically with the living area, and the teak kitchen island not only has a practical function, but also becomes a piece of furniture in itself. Intense green marble crowns the whole, contrasting with the industrial elements of the steel cabinets, while a distinctive cylinder in a bright coral shade completes the composition, giving the space a decorative touch.

Opposite the kitchen is the dining area, which is distinguished by an original, vintage table designed by Bruno Rey in the 1970s. The sloping marble top and the round silk lamp suspended over the table not only give the place elegance, but also provide an artistic counterpoint to the geometric forms of the rest of the flat.

A flat with a view of the relaxation zone

The second part of the living room is a relaxing oasis, where geometric austerity blends harmoniously with organic, rounded accents. A large, comfortable sofa by Tamo in a neutral green shade harmonises with the veneered cabinetry and accents in the form of a coffee table with rounded edges, a soft armchair or a spiral abstract kilim framed in silver. The base colour scheme of neutral green is interspersed with bold accents of red and orange – both in fabrics and decorative accessories, creating a dynamic yet cohesive style.

The other rooms of the flat present a slightly calmer approach to colour and material combinations, emphasising intimacy and cosiness. The bedroom, designed as a cosy retreat, is kept in soothing green – from the walls to the ceiling and finishing details. Beige-green jacquard curtains, bedding in khaki tones and vintage accessories such as olive bedside tables create an atmosphere conducive to relaxation. A geometric mosaic headboard stands out in the centre of the arrangement, whose colours intermingle with the deep burgundy marble skirting boards.

The bathroom is kept in subdued beige tones, where the dominant accent is the washbasin enclosure, which is a composition of teak, red and green marble. The minimalist form of the furniture and the subtle shower wall growing out of the travertine floor emphasise the coherence and harmony of the interior, allowing the diversity of materials to shine through, which as a whole creates the unique character of the space.

The flat overlooking the forest exemplifies a sophisticated approach to design, based on the relationship between forms, materials and, above all, the functional layout of the space. Every element has been planned with the users in mind, who can not only enjoy an aesthetic experience through this space, but also actively shape their surroundings.
