It is an example of leisure architecture. The summer house was built in the northern part of the country. It is 135 sq m in size and was designed by architects from the Heima studio.
The building is part of a larger complex of leisure buildings. The summer house was built in the central part of a hilly valley, close to an existing water reservoir.
The buildings are distinguished by their roofs. All structures in the complex have a pointed roof with skylights in the central parts. The strong roof contrasts with the frameless rounded corner windows. The size of the glass panes ensures that they do not obstruct the view of the greenery. The grey-brown colour palette used represents an attempt to unite the architecture with nature.
In total, the structure supporting the roof consists of three wooden columns, which have become a decorative element of the interior. There are also 120 cm high beams in the centre. The use of wood is a conscious effort by the architects, who wanted to refer to the traditional wooden houses built in Lithuania.
The summer house is complemented by leisure facilities. A 10-metre-long swimming pool, a small sandy beach and a barbecue area were built nearby.
The architects at Heima designed the summer house with specific activities in mind. The large windows, which can be opened all the way, make the boundary between outside and inside disappear.
