This is how Natalia Kusiak lives. Original interior in a Warsaw townhouse

It is located in Warsaw’s Filtry district. The flat for Natalia Kusiak was designed by Luiza Anyszka. The architect specialises in designing interiors in historical buildings. Her realisations show the beauty inherent in old walls. The flat in Filtry is a case in point.

The project by Anyszka Studio was created for Natalia Kusiak, an influencer, traveller and podcaster. The flat was designed to become an ideal place to relax after returning from numerous trips. Traces of the latter can be seen perfectly in the arrangement. Indeed, the interior is full of personal souvenirs.

In the design of the flat, the architect combined functionality with a unique style, which reflects the personality of the owner and her love of exploring the world. Exploring the successive rooms, we plunge into a symbolic journey to the 1920s. Here, modernised classicism is enriched with contemporary touches.

In this flat, I wanted to portray Natalia as I see her – colourful, bold, unconventional. Maximalism was the first reference I reached for. Every interior tells a story about something,” emphasises Luiza Anyszka.

The design harmoniously combines elements of classic and modern. It is an elegant interior. References to historical wooden furniture and stone mosaics contrast with modern touches, such as the dark hall, the wallpaper on the ceiling and the hidden door. Wallpaper designed by Olka Osadzinska and made by LoveYourWall emphasises the unique character of the interior.

The character of the interior is already evident when entering the entrance hall. The entrance area is a manifesto of minimalist maximalism. The dominant burgundy colour binds the space together and permeates the rounded lines of the walls, ceiling and cabinets.

The heart of the interior is the living room, which is distinguished by a collection of memorabilia. References to Mexico and Asia can be seen here, combined with elements reflecting Polish roots. It is a very personal space.

The designer was bold in her treatment of the bedroom. The room behind the hidden door transports us to an enchanted garden. The impression is enhanced by wallpaper with a picturesque scene. This is topped off with high-quality accessories made from natural materials.
