The CASA B.V. project is not just a flat – it is a personal story about a space that has become a home from the very first moment. The owners chose it consciously: the trapezoidal floor plan, the L-shaped terrace and the square footage, which allowed freedom of rearrangement, promised unusual solutions. Already after the first conversation with the architects, sketches were drawn up – a plan for opening up the living space and exposing the concrete beams and pillars that became an integral part of the design. The interior metamorphosis project was carried out by architects from CIMA Studio.
The project had a clear objective – to create an extra room for the newborn daughter, without losing comfort and aesthetics. As a result, unusual solutions were introduced: the kitchen was placed right next to the entrance area, and in the night area, an irregular layout was designed with a separate shower cubicle outside the main bathroom area. Every detail was thought through and made “to measure”, without the concessions typical of commercial projects.
Warmth of wood and accents in red
The floors became a leitmotif. In the living area, the light oak was enlivened with darker elements, creating a gentle geometry. In the master bedroom, oak planks make way for birch boards, which flow harmoniously into a headboard of the same material, concealing the wardrobe. Red details – the radiator in the living room, the lamp above the table, the kitchen mixer tap handle or the plumbing risers – add energy and character to the interior.
The kitchen as a showcase
Immediately upon entering, guests are greeted by the kitchen, which has been thoughtfully designed to make maximum use of space. The height of the cabinets has been adapted to the structural beam, and the former storage space has been replaced by three modules: a wardrobe, fridge and oven. This shows that at CASA B.V. in Bologna, functionality and aesthetics go hand in hand.

The corridor, which connects the living and private areas, is an example of a subtle but conscious play with space. The use of large-format white porcelain stoneware seamlessly blends the different types of parquet flooring while providing a backdrop to the whiteness of the bathroom. There, in turn, the minimalist black shower enclosure contrasts. Irregular angles and LED spotlighting add depth to the space.
A house with the soul of a designer
CASA B.V. is the quintessential embodiment of the idea of ‘su misura’ – a bespoke interior created from a combination of experience, courage and the personal tastes of the owners. It is a space where the rules of architecture meet the joy of breaking them, and every element tells the story of what makes a home truly ours.
