Sunreef 65M Explorer – the largest catamaran in history

A project considered to be the company’s most ambitious venture has been developed at the Sunreef Yachts shipyard in Gdansk. the 1,800 GT 65M Sunreef Explorer is distinguished by its bold architecture and modern design. The distinctive upturned bow, sleek lines and panoramic glazing recall the style of the shipyard’s smaller models, but here they have been enlarged to impressive proportions.

Yacht vs catamaran

A yacht is the general name for a watercraft that is used for purposes such as recreation or sport. It can be either sailing or motorised and comes in different sizes. A catamaran, on the other hand, is a particular type of yacht distinguished by its construction of two parallel hulls joined by a deck. This type provides greater stability and less heeling, and offers more deck space.

On board there will be seven cabins, two swimming pools, spacious lounge areas and a beach club with direct access to the water. The owner will enjoy a private suite on the upper deck, equipped with panoramic windows, a living room and a spacious bathroom. Guests, on the other hand, will benefit from two VIP suites and four additional cabins, and will be served by a crew of 22. Numerous communal spaces have been designed on the yacht, including a dining area, several lounges, an original shaped bar and sunny terraces. Among the highlights of the luxury catamaran will be a six-metre swimming pool and jacuzzi located aft. When the platform is lowered, there will be a beach club, which can be used as a recreation area or a place for water equipment.

World’s largest catamaran from Gdansk

the 65M Sunreef Explorer was created with global cruising in mind. The vessel reaches a cruising speed of 14 knots and a top speed of 18 knots. Thanks to the A-shaped crane, it will be possible to handle tenders, jet skis and underwater vehicles. According to Sunreef Yachts representatives, at the moment this is a concept, as the project has not yet found a client. When it does, however, Gdansk will be able to boast the largest luxury catamaran in history.
