This is a special moment in the history of the Tubądzin Group, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. To mark the occasion, a gala dinner was organised on 26 October in the spaces of the Zachęta National Gallery of Art under the slogan ‘Tubądzin Meets Art’, during which achievements to date were summarised and new projects presented.
The choice of venue for the meeting was no coincidence. The interiors of the Zachęta National Art Gallery in Warsaw have a unique atmosphere. The Zachęta building was constructed in 1900 in the style of the Academic Italian Renaissance and decorated with classicist elements designed by Zygmunt Otto. The unique interior allowed for the creation of a setting with landscapes as if from dreams, and a feast for the body and, above all, for the spirit awaited the guests
The Tubądzin Group has built a solid brand over its forty years of existence, and its hallmark has become original designs created in collaboration with artists and designers. The extent of its success is evidenced by the scale of its sales – Tubądzin products reach customers in 80 countries worldwide
For interior designers, working with fashionable and high quality finishing products is of great importance, which is why a few years ago the Tubądzin Group started cooperation with, among others, Dorota Koziara and Maciej Zień, who designed special collections (you can read our interview with Dorota Koziara about her work on the Cielo e Terra collection HERE). Additionally, Tubądzin is the organiser of the Tubądzin Design Awards competition for architects and interior designers and has been organising Tubądzin Design Days for many years. The brand also collaborates with the National Opera, and will announce further collaborations with cultural institutions in the near future
Art is close to our hearts. For years we have been promoting artists and best practices in designing functional and beautiful interiors. Now we are going a step further and officially announcing the Tubądzin Meets Art project. The Tubądzin Group wants to democratise art and provide access to it. Therefore, it will be a patron of the arts. We will support cultural institutions, carry out joint projects with artists and expand our educational activities , announces Amadeusz Kowalski, Vice-President of the Tubądzin Group
Combining many years of experience and the highest quality of manufactured ceramics with creative, fresh ideas of young artists results in unusual projects and original solutions
We are fascinated by nature and its beauty. This is why we invest in the latest technological lines and machinery, which enables us to perfectly reproduce natural structures. A new addition to our range this year are tiles whose structure is sensory. By touching them, we can feel the heterogeneous roughness, lining and shining, the same as in natural rocks and minerals, ” explains Amadeusz Kowalski, Vice-President of the Tubądzin Group
The new patterns can be found, among others, in the latest collections by Maciej Zień – Holiday and Lounge. Where did the designer draw his inspiration from?
Ibiza is one of my favourite places. The island delights with its wide beaches, blue sea and music resounding in almost all its corners. I love this atmosphere. For the Holiday collection, I wanted to bring it indoors. I chose the most beautiful rocks that can be found on the island. The collection could not do without ethnic decors, which add lightness and casualness to the whole. – explains Maciej Zień – The Lounge collection, on the other hand, is a tribute to metropolitan cities. Their monumental architecture and timeless elegance. Here, I have opted for expressive, dark rocks and decors alluding to the steel facades of skyscrapers,” he adds.
Dorota Koziara presented novelties, which are an extension of the well-known Cielo e Terra collection. The pastel colour range was enriched with green, black and super white. New decors have appeared, which move harmoniously from one colour to another. By creating a gradient effect, Dorota Koziara has given the collection a sense of lightness and harmony
To add variety to the collection, I also supplemented it with decors inspired by nature – stars and plants. This is how geometric patterns were created, which can be applied to all the colours of the collection – emphasises Dorota Koziara – Thanks to their excellent technical parameters, Cielo e Terra panels can be used not only in houses, public buildings, but also on facades. I wanted the collection to have a warm feel. This is exactly the effect that I believe the deep matt surfaces produce. Together with the Tubądzin Technology Department, we developed ceramic tile surfaces which give such an impression
The dinner culminated with a night tour of the Zachęta space, including an exhibition with sculptures by Adolf Ryszka and a concert by Bovska. This is not the end of news from the Tubądzin Group. Further projects established with leading cultural institutions and artists will be announced soon
