Two-storey house interior in Morasko, Poznań

It is bright, minimalist and enlivened with a pinch of colour. The two-storey interior of the house in Morasko, Poznań, was designed by architects from the in architekci studio. It is a 140 sq m space that was created for a young family.

The project was realised for a couple with whom the architects had worked before. As a result, they knew exactly what they needed and what results they wanted.

Karina likes good design that does not grow old with time, while Adam cares about comfort. They both like bright spacious interiors and clear colour accents,” reveals Anna Białobrzewska of in architekci.

The two-storey interior is minimalist. The dominant white is warmed up by wooden furnishings. The premises are located in a semi-detached house and have two levels. On the ground floor there is a living room connected to the kitchen, a pantry, a toilet and a study. The first floor is a private area with three bedrooms, a bathroom, a dressing room and a laundry room.

While working on the project, the architects slightly changed the existing interior layout. The kitchen was opened up to the dining room and living room, creating a large living area. An important element of the kitchen is the peninsula, where the family spends a lot of time. It is this part of the house that has become the favourite meeting place for friends.

A major challenge in the design work was the staircase.

We wanted them to be an important element in the living room space, but at the same time not dominate it. We decided to combine two materials – the structure is made of white-painted steel, while the balustrade is finished with the same veneer as all the furniture in the built-in, adds Anna Białobrzewska.

In this way, care was taken to ensure the visual consistency of the entire interior. The staircase has also become a decorative element of the living room. The height of this room (6 m) allows the stairs to be seen in all their glory.

Design fans will find plenty of iconic furniture and accessories here. Noteworthy among others are the &Tradition Formakami lamps, the Hay coffee table, the Louis Poulsen PH5 lamps or the bed from Nap.
