The panorama of Warsaw is about to change significantly, as a new skyscraper, the Lilium Tower, will rise on Jerozolimskie Avenue, near the Central Railway Station. This 193-metre-high building is to fill the space between the famous Elektrim skyscrapers and the building where the Marriott chain hotel operated until recently. The skyline has been a distinctive feature of the city’s western landscape for years. After a decade of preparation, the investment has been granted planning permission and work will start soon.
The new skyscraper will be built on the corner of Jerozolimskie Avenue and Chałubińskiego Street, one of the most important points in Warsaw. In the vicinity are key facilities such as the Central Railway Station, the Palace of Culture and Science, and the Lim Center – a complex that for years has served as one of the city’s central business hubs. Nearly 200 metres high, the tower is to serve a variety of functions, including office spaces, hotels and flats, which will allow it to fully exploit its commercial potential.

The Golden Star Group company is responsible for the construction of the skyscraper, and the architectural design was developed by the renowned APA Wojciechowski studio. The architects made sure that the new skyscraper blends harmoniously into the existing surroundings, alluding in its appearance to the twin towers of the former Marriott and Elektrim. The project envisages the creation of a modern, functional building that will fit in with the dynamics of the developing metropolis.

With its completion, the skyscraper will join the elite group of the capital’s tallest buildings. Although it will not be able to match the leader of Warsaw’s skyline – Varso Tower, which measures 310 metres and is the tallest building in the European Union – its height and location will certainly make it one of the key landmarks in the area.
As one of the fastest growing cities in Europe, Warsaw is gradually changing its skyline and the new development is another step in this transformation.
