Warsaw painted! New mural by Tytus Brzozowski unveiled in Praga

The iconic townhouses and the famous Mermaid seem to float in the air. Interwoven with trees, they appear as an urban forest. A new mural by Tytus Brzozowski has been unveiled on the wall of the Na Okrzei tenement house in Praga Północ. Near the new pedestrian and bicycle bridge.

The Na Okrzei development, realised by Matexi Polska, has been enriched with a new mural. It depicts a colourful Warsaw, but immersed in blissful nature. Tytus Brzozowski’s work can already be seen in several places in Warsaw. Previously, we wrote, among other things, about the large mural in Wola (read HERE) and the colourful wall in the Varso skyscraper (see HERE). This time, the building at 27 Stefana Okrzei Street has been given a colourful setting.

I wanted to depict a city living in harmony with nature, a quiet, peaceful, harmonious city, and I also have a dream that the area around this mural would be a place where we can stop and catch a bit of a breath. The main elements of the composition are the mighty trees. They are the ones that allow us to protect ourselves from drought from heat from floods, they clean the air. In my design, the trees feature characteristic Prague buildings, there are townhouses and temples. Each tree is approached by a portal taken from local, historical architecture. In the distance you will also find characteristic Warsaw skyscrapers, Warsaw’s downtown – a view that can be found on the new pedestrian and bicycle bridge, ” says Tytus Brzozowski.

Tytus’ fascination with the soul of the city is evident in all his works. A characteristic element of his work on the borderline between reality and fantasy is the juxtaposition of images of architecture and people. The same inspiration accompanied the artist in the creation of his latest work.

The new mural seems to be alive. The landscape is complemented by giraffes from the Prague Zoo, and a mermaid looks at us from behind the leaves.

We wanted our investment to complement the image of the right bank of Warsaw. Na Okrzei is a project prepared for people for whom comfortable living means fast communication, proximity to green areas and everyday shopping in the immediate vicinity. In this modern tenement house with a distinctive architecture that fits in with the historical neighbourhood, we used an interesting solution, such as a patio, which refers to the “Praga courtyards” characteristic of the Praga district, creating a neighbourhood enclave. A mural by an excellent artist on the wall of the building is the culmination of our idea,” said Mirosław Bednarek, CEO of Matexi Polska.

Importantly, the Tytus Brzozowski mural will soon change its face. In its upper part, space has been prepared for climbing plants, so it will provide new impressions in spring and summer.
