In a design world where functionality meets aesthetics, the real challenge is to turn limitations into assets. The Versja studio proves that even the most problematic architectural elements can become an inspiration for creating unique and harmonious interiors. In the design of a single-family house, where chimney flues were an obstacle to the arrangement, a minimalist bathroom in three versions and a bedroom were created. The architects found a way to neatly hide the sensitive areas, giving the spaces a personal touch.
A minimalist bathroom with three faces – a harmony of contrasts
The key to creating a harmonious space was to conceal the chimney flues by using soft, rounded shapes for the joinery, emphasises architect Mateusz Chodorowski of the Versja Studio.
The bathroom interiors are characterised by a bold contrast of materials. The smooth surfaces of the floor tiles were juxtaposed with finely textured tiles, and an optical division of space was additionally created in each room. Contrasting colours against white were used for this purpose. Large mirrors, black minimalist radiators and fittings emphasise the modern character of the interiors.
Black and white bathroom – the elegance of contrasts
The modern, minimalist bathroom with the contrasting combination of white and black exudes elegance. The large mirror optically enlarges the space, while the rounded, black built-in hides the non-functional flue and adds a unique, eye-catching touch. Geometric shapes and minimalist accessories emphasise the modern design.
Green bathroom – an oasis of calm and harmony
A white, minimalist bathroom with accents of black and deep green creates an oasis of calm. The walk-in shower area and countertop washbasin create a functional space, while the soft shapes of the woodwork soften the austerity of the décor. A small window and potted plants introduce a natural accent, completing the harmonious atmosphere.
Blue bathroom – elegance and freshness
The bright, modern bathroom with blue tiles and black accents combines harmony and freshness. The white bathtub, washbasin and toilet form a single unit, while blue woodwork shaped like sea waves enlivens the interior. Two small windows let in natural light, highlighting the attention to detail.
The bedroom – an oasis of calm in Scandinavian style
The bedroom, designed with modernity, minimalism and functionality in mind, stands out for its brightness and spaciousness. The white walls and ceiling contrast with the warm wooden floor, and the focal point is the upholstered bed with grey headrest. An interesting element is the double granite washbasin with modern fittings, which complements the black-and-white bathroom. Minimalist lamps and an abstract painting complete the arrangement, while the balcony windows let in plenty of natural light, optically enlarging the interior.
