White house with swimming pool. The owner has abandoned the fence on the plot

The developer wanted the architecture of the building to become a prominent feature of the area. It did not shout, but complemented the landscape in an attractive way. At the same time, he did not want to hide from the neighbours and fence off the plot. His white house was built on a small hill, which offers a good view of the nearby buildings and nature.

The building was designed by architect Diamantino Maia Pinho of the dp arquitectos studio. The white house is located in Santarém, Portugal. It is a modernist structure characterised by simple lines and horizontal layouts. The white façade makes the building a landmark on sunny days.

The developer did not build a fence around the house, so access to the house is direct. A sense of privacy is created by the considerable distance from nearby buildings, and the building’s location on a hill allows the neighbourhood and approaching people to be observed.

In the photo taken with the help of a drone, it can be seen that the house consists of several blocks with different heights. A different function has been designed into each ‘cube’. The total area of the building is 263 square metres. The space is enlarged by a huge terrace, part of which is a swimming pool.

The love of geometry can be seen at every turn here. In front of the main entrance, there is a network of white poles that support ropes for climbing plants. These will reach all the way to the garage building in the future, thus creating a green canopy.

The house is simple. It will appeal to fans of minimalism. At the same time, it is elegant and easy to arrange. The white of the façade is repeated inside. Only the furniture and accessories stand out on the pale walls. This interior base means that furniture of different aesthetics will look good in the space.
