Its design was prepared by Martyna Milczarek of the MULUM STUDIO studio. The 70-square-metre flat in Gdańsk is enlivened by strong colours, and its clear functional layout makes it an ideal holiday flat.
The flat has a total of three rooms. The interior was created for a married couple who live at the other end of Poland on a daily basis, but often visit Gdańsk to relax.
The designer’s biggest inspiration was colour. The architect got to know the needs of the owners, who indicated that they expected a different effect than in their family home, which is dominated by subdued colours, greys, black and white. In the case of the premises in Gdansk, they expected a completely different effect. An interior full of positive energy and joy.
The architect focused on shades of terracotta, green and natural oak. The interior is decorated with Parisian Ananbo wallpaper, which was installed on the wall of the entrance hall, right next to the entrance. This kind of wallpaper gives an amazing atmosphere, making you feel like you are in the jungle. The breakthrough of this zone is the glass console in brown, which in its modern form contrasts with the elegant woodwork.
Lampery wraps around the entire corridor, which leads to the bedrooms and two bathrooms. The continuity of the pattern can also be seen in the built-ins. The materials used in the kitchen reflect the established colour palette.
Here, we have smooth fronts in crushed pistachio, terracotta and natural oak. This is complemented by a natural quartzite worktop in broken beige,” explains the designer.
The colourful dot over the i in the living room is the velour sofa, in a luscious terracotta shade. The living room is also decorated with oak veneers on the walls, which visually warm up the interior. The veneers are visible from almost every perspective. The flat in Gdansk has become a holiday oasis, which the owners can enjoy not only at weekends.
