Azizi tower. It will be the second tallest skyscraper in the world

AZIZI Developments has announced the construction of the world’s second largest skyscraper. Azizi tower will be 700m tall and will cost $1.5bn to build.

A few days ago, we wrote about the Merdeka 118 skyscraper in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, which, at 678.9 metres tall, is now the tallest skyscraper in the world. It is only surpassed by the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, which is 828 m high. You can read our article about the building HERE. In just a few years, the places on the podium will be reshuffled. The new Azizi tower is expected to be taller than Mordeka 118 and will reach 700 m in height.

Construction of the new skyscraper has already begun. The cost of the work is estimated at $1.5 billion. The tower will rise on a plot of land on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai.

In total, construction is expected to take four years. The developer plans a mix of functions. A vertical shopping mall is to be built on the lower floors and luxury residences and luxury penthouses above. A hotel, which is to be designated with seven stars, will operate here. An observation deck with restaurants and cafés will be built on the top floors.

This is a special day as we are starting work on one of my dream projects in Dubai. Although the formal ceremony will take place at a later date I am thrilled to celebrate the occasion with our team,” said Mirwais Azizi, founder and CEO of Azizi Developments.

This tower will be our legacy. Because Dubai has provided so much for me and my family – security and a wealth of opportunities – this tower, which will be the second tallest, is our way of repaying the emirate and its incredibly hospitable people, added the company’s CEO.
