It has 50 sq m. Colourful flat in Wrocław

Its interior was designed by Iga Kostrzewska and Karolina Maj from the Kamiko studio. The flat is located on Tęczowa Street in Wrocław. The Szerokąty team is responsible for the photographs published here

The designers’ task was to create a new interior layout and to implement the project. The interference with the function of the flat was considerable. The original kitchen is now a bedroom and vice versa – the former bedroom has been combined with the living room to now form one large and well-lit space

The flat on Tęczowa Street in Wrocław is 55 square metres in size. A young design fanatic lives here, and the décor of the apartment is intended to symbolise her love of simplicity and streamlined forms. Micro-concrete was used on the entire floor surface. The strongly considered function has been clothed in simple forms, broken by elements related to nature. The décor is also intended to be reminiscent of warm summer residences, hence the abundance of wood and decorative elements in the form of thick weave of upholstery and curtain fabrics, unevenly burnished tiles or rattan. This is topped off with ascetic furniture

To achieve a harmonious material balance, the vertical elements are made of natural veneer combined with rattan – mainly the fronts of the cabinets and other furniture. The Ikea kitchen brought a slightly green hue to the arrangement, so a dark, calm green was introduced as a contrast to the light main palette. It is this strong contrast that clearly separates the private space from the open living room area ,” describe the authors of the project

The final arrangement is the result of a whole process in which the client was able to explore alternative solutions. She was persuaded to introduce colourful colours and unusual shapes in the accessories. Important elements of the décor include a Moroccan rug and a vase, as well as a few designer gems from Polish designers
