It is small, but will regain its lustre. The railway station in Swarzewo will be rebuilt

The railwaymen have announced plans that will see the railway station in Swarzewo regain its former glory. It is a tiny building located in the county of Puck. As part of the works, the brick façade will be exposed.

The small railway station in Swarzewo will be adapted for comfortable passenger service. The old plaster will be removed from the façade, so it will regain its historic appearance. The façade will be finished in brick and the roof in brick-coloured plain tiles. The station’s new aesthetic will also include restored bronze-coloured window and door joinery based on the historic one. A clock will appear on the façade facing the tracks. It will also feature a spatial inscription in black with the PKP S.A. logo and the name of the town. A similar inscription, with the name of the railway station, will also appear on the side elevation.

Inside, travellers will find a small waiting room and toilets. It has been designed in shades of grey. They want to lay large grey terrazzo-like stoneware tiles on the floor, while the walls, up to the height of the lamellas, will feature a stucco-like pattern. Linear luminaires will be placed on the ceiling.

The waiting room will be equipped with benches, electronic arrival and departure boards, display cases with train timetables and a clock. It will also include a small room for hire, such as a ticket sales point. The passenger service area will also be marked out to accommodate a ticket machine and a snack vending machine.

Along with the reconstruction of the station, the surroundings will also change. Among other things, the contractor will pave new pavements and an access road. There will also be 12 parking spaces around the building, including two for people with disabilities. An outbuilding close to the station will be converted into a cycle shelter. The project also includes the installation of landscaping elements such as benches, baskets and lamps, as well as tidying up the green areas and making new plantings.

The station will gain environmentally friendly solutions. Among them, the railwaymen point to energy-efficient lighting and a heat pump. Photovoltaic panels will be installed on the roof of the cycle shelter. The project also includes the installation of modern security systems, as well as intelligent building management systems.

The cost of the station redevelopment is PLN 5.88 million gross. The completion date for the station modernisation is scheduled for the end of this year.
