The office company Skanska has revitalised the area next to the P180 building, right next to the Wilanowska metro. The office building’s employees and local residents can enjoy the daily use of a recreational space full of greenery and architecture created with everyone in mind, including the youngest. This is another example of an investment made with the local community in mind, in accordance with ESG principles, which at the same time complements the urban fabric of this part of Mokotów.
Diverse greenery, a playground, bicycle stations or small architecture that will be used for relaxation and meetings are just some of the solutions within the development of the area next to the P180 office building completed by Skanska. The developer has just handed over this space to the Mokotów District Office, which will take care of its further maintenance
– P180 creates a new quality in the Wilanowska metro area. We have taken care not only to provide sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions inside and outside the building, but also to create a place where you want to stay and spend time with friends and family. In this way, P180 fits in with the city’s policy, but also sets new standards for office building design in which placemaking plays an elementary role,’ says Robert Ryś, project manager for Skanska’s CEE office company. – ‘There was a lot of potential in this area, so we added recreational space for the residents of the surrounding estates to the existing playground and skate park. And it has worked well. The P180 neighbourhood is vibrant. What’s more, it has become a valuable stop for those travelling by metro or bicycle,” adds Robert Ryś
Prior to the construction of the P180 office building, Skanska carried out a decontamination process of the area, i.e. the elimination of potentially harmful substances. In addition, a pavement was laid on the side of Domaniewska Street to reduce the level of pollutants found in the city air. In the vicinity of the building, extensive planting has also been taken care of, including a flower meadow that has become a kind of hotel for insects
A place accessible to everyone
The variety of means of transport that can be used to reach the P180 office building is undoubtedly one of its main advantages. For those who prefer individual transport, the availability of a spacious car park is a major convenience. For supporters of public transport, the proximity of the Wilanowska metro station opens the door to comfortable travel without traffic jams and parking problems. On the other hand, the extensive bicycle infrastructure allows lovers of two wheels to reach the office building by bike or scooter without any problems
The P180 office building is not only a transport-friendly space, but also an example of care for accessibility for people with disabilities, as confirmed by the “Barrier-free building” certificate recently received by this investment. The publicly accessible space offers marked paths, for the visually impaired and the blind, and 1/3 of the benches are equipped with backrests and armrests. In addition, the building has parking spaces for people with disabilities in the underground garage and outside the building, as well as public toilets. Picnic to celebrate the opening of the newly developed space
on 14 September, a picnic was held to say goodbye to summer for the tenants of the office building and local residents. A number of attractions were prepared for the participants, including a food-truck zone, sports activities and a bike service with workshops. The youngest participants could take part in activities with animators
