Contemporary wooden architecture has more and more supporters in Poland. Another building of this type will be constructed in Wielu in the Kashubian region. The office building of the SYLVA company will be erected using CLT cross-laminated timber technology. It was designed by the studio APA Wojciechowski Architekci. A contract with the contractor has already been signed. The wooden office building is expected to be completed next year.
Wiele is a town located near Kościerzyna. The wooden office building to be erected there will become the headquarters of a branch of the SYLVA company, which is one of Poland’s largest wood processing plants, producing, among other things, structural timber. The CLT HEXAPLI system used (SYLVA’s own brand of cross-laminated timber) will come from the investor’s own production. The company is part of the French concern PIVETEAUBOIS. The building will be located in the immediate vicinity of the production and storage facilities.
The general contractor for the investment will be Allcon Budownictwo. According to the approved schedule, the construction of the office building is to be completed next year. This innovative office building will consist of two buildings of 1,200 m2 connected by a staircase, plus a showroom. The ceilings and interior-load-bearing walls will be made using CLT (Cross Laminated Timber) technology. The facades of the building will be finished with glass, so the natural raw material construction will be fully visible from the outside.
The intimate office building designed for SYLVA is not the only wooden project made by APA Wojciechowski Architekci. The studio has previously created projects using this technology in Wieliczka and Gdańsk.
