Renovation of the barracks in the Owcza Góra fort. A Kłodzko monument rises from the ruins

A business incubator in the renovated white barracks, part of the Kłodzko fort Owcza Góra monument, is due to be opened next year.A new access road and tourist infrastructure are also being built

The effects of the ongoing work are already visible. The restored buildings and their surroundings look as they did years ago. In the casemates, which have until recently been in ruins, office space is now being created, ceilings and partition walls have already appeared and – importantly – the historical elements of the barracks have been preserved. Approximately 20 entrepreneurs will find their place there – primarily those whose activities are included in the innovation strategy of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship

The cost of building the incubator is PLN 11.5 million, 80% of which is co-financed by the Regional Operational Programme for the Lower Silesian Voivodship. The incubator is to be one of the elements of the new infrastructure in the fort. In addition to it, accompanying infrastructure such as a bicycle path, a viewing tower or recreation and leisure areas for residents will be created

Work on the construction of the fort on Sheep Mountain began around 1743. The entire work took almost 20 years. From a tactical point of view, it was the most important undertaking undertaken by the fortificators of the Kłodzko Fortress. The fort was intended to prevent the Main Fortress from being fired upon from the top of the hill, as well as to facilitate observation of the foreground and improve control of the road towards Wrocław and the valley of the Nysa Kłodzka River. At the end of the 19th century, the fortress lost its importance and its partial demolition began

By a decision of the provincial conservator of monuments on 2 December 2002, the fort was entered in the register of monuments
