The railway station in Wejherowo is located in the Pomeranian Voivodeship. The railwaymen have announced its renovation, which will see the building’s façade renewed and the area in front of the building given a new face
The manor house in Wejherowo was built in 1868, and the first trains started stopping here in 1870. The redevelopment of the building will soon start, which will include the historic railway station and its immediate surroundings. By restoring the façade and the architectural details on it, the station’s aesthetics will be improved. The restored façade will be highlighted by new night-time illumination of the building. Thanks to the planned investment, the station will be adapted to the needs of people with reduced mobility
The space inside the building will be completely transformed and adapted to meet modern travel service standards. In the western, ground-floor part of the building, a travel service area will be located, which will include a lobby with ticket offices for train and bus operators. There will be two toilets in the station building. Both will be fully accessible for disabled people. The toilets will additionally be equipped with a baby changing station
The railwaymen have also announced changes to the surroundings of the building. A small car park with several parking spaces will be created on the west side of the station, as well as a bicycle shelter. In addition, the pavement will be resurfaced and the green areas will be tidied up
the tender procedure for the redevelopment of the railway station was announced on 20 July this year. The deadline for submitting bids is 22 August this year. The final date for the investment will depend on when the contract with the contractor selected in the proceedings is signed. If all works go well and subsequent stages of the investment are realised according to the schedule, we plan to complete the reconstruction of the Wejherowo railway station in the first half of 2025. The contractor for the project documentation is PAS PROJEKT sp. z o.o. from Nadarzyn.
