It is a building from the 1960s. The Grudziądz railway station will soon be renovated. The contractor for the work is Budimex S.A
The Grudziądz railway station was built between 1963 and 1965 according to a design by Zbigniew Czekanowski. The modernist building was put into use on the occasion of the 900th anniversary of Grudziądz. In 2021, the building was entered in the register of monuments. Previously unprotected, it was painted yellow, a reference to the popular discount store operating inside. After the refurbishment, the building will regain its calm grey façade
The contractor has just signed a contract to modernise the building. The work will include replacing the external façade with structure and joinery, insulating the building from the outside and repairing the roof, which will feature photovoltaic panels. The interior of the building will be remodelled and refurbished. The project involves the restoration of historic elements, and the suspended fibreboard ceiling will be replaced with HPL laminated panels. Importantly, the decorative metalwork and stone cladding will also be renovated
Passengers will gain a lift and ramps. Garages and service units will be built on level -1. On the ground floor, the space has been divided into a lobby, waiting area, ticket office, toilets, SOK station and retail units

In total, the renovation of the station will cost PLN 59.9 million. The works will last 20 months. During this time, passengers will use a temporary station
