Łódź Śródmieście station – this is what the underground station will look like!

The Łódź Śródmieście station will be one of the most important transport hubs for many Łódź citizens. We have just announced the visualisation of the Łódź Śródmieście Station, which will occupy as many as three underground floors and a fourth on the surface. Travelling underground, residents will be able to get from one end of the city to the other in literally a few minutes.

Travel times through Łódź will be shorter thanks to, among other things, the three stations that are being built along the route of the tunnel. The first is located in Koziny, at the junction of Drewnowska and Włókniarzy, the second in Polesie, right next to Manufaktura. Much is currently happening at the construction site of the third one. The Łódź Śródmieście station is one of the most important facilities being built in the city centre. Once the investment has been completed, people in Łódź will be able to take the train from here in just a few minutes to Teofilów – going in the direction of the Łódź Żabieniec station, to Karolew – taking the train to the Łódź Kaliska station, or even to Widzew.

Visualisation of the Łódź Śródmieście station

The three floors of the Łódź Śródmieście station will house platforms, retail and service premises and technical rooms. The next stage of diaphragm wall construction will soon begin. There will also be real technological wonders happening on the construction site. Although an underground facility is being built around it – tram traffic will be maintained at all times. Engineers will build a temporary track – all so that residents can continue to use the line. Once the trams start running on it, the construction of the station elements on the Piotrkowska Street side will begin. In total, the tracks will be moved four times.
