Which building in Warsaw will receive the Residents’ Award? [VOTE]

The 10th anniversary edition of the Architectural Award of the Mayor of the City of Warsaw competition is being launched. The special Residents’ Prize can be awarded by internet users. Voting will take place from 8 to 21 March on the event’s website. The list of nominated buildings and events is published below.

Fifteen projects made it to the final of the competition. These are both small objects and large investments. The group also includes green areas and parks, whose beauty we will see in spring. In addition, the list includes new housing estates and cultural events.

We are beginning the most exciting stage of our competition. The shortlist includes 15 of the most interesting realisations completed in 2023. It includes grand edifices such as the Museum of Polish History or the Museum of the Polish Army, as well as modest but much-needed facilities. These include the all-wood public library in Choszczówka or the Our Lady of Heart House in Włochy for people in crisis of homelessness. I invite you to take part in the vote. I already know what I will vote for,” encourages Rafał Trzaskowski, Mayor of Warsaw.

The public plebiscite will last from 8 to 21 March. How to vote? Just go to the website nagroda-architektoniczna.pl. There are photos and descriptions. We choose only one of the proposals. The building, place or event with the most votes will win the prestigious Residents’ Award. Every vote counts!

The hardest part of the job was done by the 12-member competition jury headed by Maria Wasiak, Secretary of the City of Warsaw, and Marlena Happach, the city’s architect. After field trips, the experts selected the 15 best investments and events in five categories. All of them are nominated for the Architectural Award of the Mayor of the City of Warsaw. But only one investment or event will win the Residents’ Award.

The charts with the nominated projects can be seen in the ZODIAK Warsaw Architecture Pavilion. The projects from this year’s edition are presented on the square in front of the building, and inside – a summary of the previous editions with illustrations by Zuza Gadomska.
