The flat is located in a new building in Warsaw’s Wola district. Its interior was designed by the architect duo Paweł Karwowski and Marta Feder. Many famous pieces of furniture were placed in the apartment, including the iconic Paimio armchair designed by Alvar Aalto
The concept for this flat began with an armchair. It is the Paimio armchair just mentioned by the famous Finnish architect and designer Alvar Aalto. The iconic piece of furniture made the flat’s owner, the active thirty-year-old Patryk, by day a civil engineer and lecturer at one of Warsaw’s technical universities, interested in design
The flat is located in Warsaw’s Wola district, surrounded by parks. The idea behind the creation of the space was to create a place to relax and reset your head surrounded by beautiful objects and open space
The architects found the premises in a development state – it consisted of three separate rooms, so the first decision was to get rid of all the partition walls and start designing from scratch. Visits to numerous design museums and showrooms of top brands led the owner to invest in the furniture collection, and the flat has furniture by Gerrit Thomas Rietveld or Poul Henningsen
The architects have taken care of the sense of space. The walls and ceiling are white and the floor is light grey. To break up the feeling of coolness, the interior features light, warm wood furnishings and plenty of plants. All this is complemented by accessories. The Slit Oblong coffee table, a mirrored piece of furniture by Danish brand HAY, makes an impression
The living room is a huge, open space. The room has a kitchenette, next to which a large round table Runda by the Polish brand minko has been placed. The table is as large as 160 cm in diameter, so it can easily accommodate a group of several people. Next to it, we can see the Zig-Zag chairs designed by Gerrit Thomas Rietveld for the Cassina brand
In a separate part, a bedroom has been created. It is an elongated room, the side of which is decorated with a spacious wardrobe with mirrored fronts. At its end is a large bed. The bedroom is decorated with a Chippensteel 0.5 Inox chair from Zięta Studio, an OPENHAGUE desk – CPH190, by the famous designers Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec of the HAY brand and blue vases from the Alvar Aalto Collection by the Finnish brand Iittala
The total area of the flat is 62 sq m
