Creativity has many synonyms: ingenuity, invention, discovery… And very well, let us conjugate it by all cases, because without it there would be no whiteMAD. This is a particularly important edition for us. It is the 20th anniversary issue of the magazine. It would not exist if it were not for the creativity and commitment of Polish architects, designers and all our contributors. It would also not be here if it were not for our readers!We thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
The first pages of this issue are devoted to Polish fashion. And not just any fashion! In three articles, you will find collections by young, talented graduates of the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź. It is a new generation of designers who go beyond the clichés and use fashion as a manifesto. Angelika Sieńko, Robert Geserick and Olga Galińska show how much potential they have and present the new face of Lodz’s textile industry

In the “Architecture” section, we publish interior designs whose expressive colours are a departure from the greyness of autumn and winter. You will find there a description of a flat in Warsaw’s Ursus, the interior of which is the work of a duo from the Houmi studio. Equally colourful is a flat at the Pasaż Ursynowski in Warsaw designed by the Mili Młodzi Ludzie studio. Energetic red fills Wrocław’s Riso Bar, a venue that specialises in Mediterranean cuisine. Its décor was designed by the CUDO studio :
In this section, we also describe a dental clinic in Gdansk located in a former granary. New life was given to the old building by designers from Kamil Domachowski‘s IFA Group studio. A photograph of the clinic’s interior adorns the cover of this issue
The “Design” section is a kind of journey through art. Poles are increasingly willing to buy paintings, sculptures and ceramics, the value of which is set to rise. Unique and for sale are, among others, the graphics designed by Konrad Kunc. The young illustrator has prepared a commemorative illustration for us, which can be seen on the introductory page of the issue
We close the issue with a ‘Portfolio’ section, in which we describe the graduation projects of young architects. Let the good things happen!
