Do you design? There are the last days left to send your application to the 3rd edition of the international Paradyż Designers competition. The event is organised by Ceramika Paradyż and entries can be submitted until 29 February. The prizes include a prize pool with a total value of EUR 40,000. The selected authors will also get the opportunity to travel to Milan for the Salone del Mobile.
Ceramika Paradyż, as a pioneer in the production of TRI-D large-format sinters, is distinguished from other companies by its use of innovative technology that allows to achieve the effect of colourful ‘veins’ across the entire cross-section of the board. The various sinter structures, which mimic the natural raw material, open up unlimited design possibilities, ranging from classic to modern minimalism. This year, the TRI-D collections were recognised by industry experts in the EU Pearls of Ceramics competition as being outstanding in the market in terms of design and quality and best in line with global trends.
And it is this beautiful and functional material that is the subject of the competition participants’ designs. The main task is to design a space or product in the form of a 3D graphic using TRI-D large-format sinters for the competition or to submit a previously made or realised design. A given visualisation can be submitted to several categories if it meets certain requirements. The competition is divided into categories: Main (for architects and interior designers), Student Design (for debutantes: students of art and architecture) and Special by application of TRI-D sinters: Product, Outdoor and Interior. Attractive prizes totalling more than €40,000 await the winners in each category.
This edition is unique for several reasons. The international scope of the competition is also reflected in the composition of the jury, whose chairman is Jürgen Mayer H., a world-renowned architect and artist. In addition to attractive financial prizes, the authors of the best works will have the opportunity to go to one of the most anticipated events in the field of design – the Salone del Mobile in Milan in April this year.
Prominent experts such as Jürgen Mayer H., David Basulto, Didier F. Faustino, Agnieszka Kalinowska-Sołtys, Oskar Zięta, Ewa P. Porębska, Szymon Hanczar, Przemo Łukasik, Magdalena Federowicz-Boule, Jo Jurga, Aldona Chudzicka, and Alek Pluta of Nomadd Studio will sit on the jury, ready to name the winners from among the best submitted projects. A non-trivial accent of this edition is the presence of Alek Pluta, winner of first place in the previous edition of the Paradyż Designers competition. You can see the project made by Alek Pluta a year ago by clicking HERE.
Marcin Szczelina, an architecture critic and curator, also known as the creator and editor-in-chief of Architecture Snob magazine, remains the content curator of Paradyż Designers. His extensive experience also includes his role as ambassador of the Lafarge Holcim Award and his participation in the expert group of the prestigious European Mies van der Rohe Award.
There are only a few days left for students, designers and architects to take part in this unique edition, where creativity meets innovation and financial prizes and the chance to attend the Salone del Mobile in Milan await the best. The deadline for entries is already 29 February 2024 at 23.59 and the results will be announced at the end of March 2024. Don’t miss this unique chance to make a mark in the world of architecture!
