Start of the second edition of the PEKAO ART_stories art competition!

Bank Pekao S.A. has launched the second edition of the PEKAO ART_stories art competition. The competition is aimed at everyone who wants to share their talent. The task of the competition is to present what the artist would use the additional funds obtained, for example, from the Pekao express loan, for. Another edition of the PEKAO ART_stories competition has been launched on Instagram @bankpekaosa and the pekaoartstories.pl campaign website. As in the previous edition, artists have a chance to show through their works how they perceive the modern world of banking. This time, the competition works are to refer to the artists’ fulfilled plans and dreams after obtaining additional funds from Pekao, e.g. in the form of a loan: “For what makes you happy! For what, then?”. The answer to these questions is to be found in the works submitted to the competition

Through the competition, Pekao Bank is encouraging all artists, enthusiasts and creators to dare and take up the challenge. The main prize of PLN 20,000 and three additional prizes of PLN 2,000 each are up for grabs. Selected entries will be published in a gallery on the competition website and on the bank’s Instagram @bankpekaosa. Winners can also look forward to the promotion of their artwork and works

Artworks submitted to the competition can be prepared in the form of: a poster, painting, graphic design, photograph, video, or photo of a sculpture/installation/object. It is important that they reflect the soul of the artist and do not weigh more than 512 MB. After accepting the competition rules and completing the application, they must be uploaded to the dedicated competition website pekaoartstories.co.uk by 8 December 2023. The results will be announced on 18 December this year

The artistic works submitted to the competition will be judged by a jury consisting of: Martyna Nowakowska – director of image management at Bank Pekao S.A., Joanna Gerlee – co-owner and creative director of Digital Kingdom agency, Prof Prot Jarnuszkiewicz – pro-rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Łukasz Pączkowski, known as Zulu Kuki – multidisciplinary artist, photographer, designer, founder of a creative agency and passionate about new technologies

Anyone who paints, photographs, prepares graphics, animations or videos can take part in the competition. The first edition of the competition received more than 1,000 entries, of which as many as 738 were shortlisted. The awarded competition entries are available to view on pekaoartstories.pl. On the same website and on the bank’s Instagram @bankpekaosa , the necessary information on the conditions of participation in the competition has been posted

Bank Pekao S.A. has been active in the field of art and new technologies for a long time. From November 2021, Pekao S.A.’s collection of works of art, accumulated over decades, can be viewed by visiting the virtual gallery on the bank’s website. Nearly 1,200 stunning exhibits can be found there – including works of art by old artists such as Jan Matejko, Stanisław Wyspiański, Wojciech Kossak, Julian Fałat, Józef Mehoffer and Zygmunt Waliszewski, as well as works by contemporary artists including Tadeusz Dominik, Jerzy Nowosielski, Jerzy Duda-Gracz, Franciszek Starowieyski and Bożenna Biskupska. Pekao also supports artists and cultural institutions. The bank has just extended its patronage to the exhibition ‘Designer. Wojciech Jarzębowski’, which can be seen at the Czapski Palace in Warsaw until 15 May 2024
