The decision to enter it in the register was made by Prof. Jakub Lewicki, the Mazovian Regional Conservator of Monuments. The former Hotel Warszawski is located in Płock and its history dates back to the beginning of the 20th century
The historic building is located in the city centre. The former Warszawski Hotel is part of a classicist development in Płock designed at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries as a clerical district on today’s Kolegialna Street. The hotel building itself was built in 1901 and can still be seen in its original form
The building has a characteristic facade decoration. The original composition of the interior has been preserved. The former hotel is a relic of Plock’s neo-renaissance buildings and an example of the disappearing building and construction techniques used in the early 20th century
The building is associated with the person of Marshal Józef Piłsudski. on 10 April 1921, he came to Płock to decorate the defenders of the city, including scouts, with the Virtuti Militari Order and Cross of Valour for defending the city against the Bolshevik army in 1920. At the town hall, the Commander-in-Chief was awarded honorary citizenship of the city of Płock. This important historical event ended with a raffle given by the Civic Committee in the hall of the Hotel Warszawski, the most elegant establishment in the city,” says Professor Jakub Lewicki
The building of the former hotel entered in the register of historical monuments consists of: the complicated body of four historical buildings, the way of shaping the elevation in the Neo-Renaissance style with the rhythm of cornices, windows, risalits and numerous architectural details. Among the latter are window bands and cornices
