The green energy investment is expected to generate 400 new jobs. The wind tower factory will be built on Ostrow Grabowski in Szczecin. This is a former river island located in Szczecin’s Międzyodrze
Documents announcing the construction of the plant were signed last week. The investment will be carried out by the Spanish company Windar, which has signed a preliminary land lease agreement with the Szczecin and Świnoujście Seaport Authority. The wind tower factory will be built on Ostrow Grabowski
The investment site will occupy approximately 17 hectares in the Szczecin harbour. Wind tower components for offshore and onshore wind farms will be manufactured there. In addition, the plant will produce foundation structures for offshore and onshore, mast structures or metal towers
We are very pleased that Windar has chosen Szczecin and that such an important factory for the offshore and onshore industry will be built in our city. We would like to thank the Port, Windar and the Ministry for the fact that this cooperation has brought results and that another important investment will be created in Szczecin, generating new jobs and strengthening our economy,” says Michał Przepiera, Deputy Mayor of Szczecin
The investor declares that it will begin operations in the first half of 2026 and that the new plant will generate 400 new jobs
Earlier, its investment in Szczecin was announced by the Danish company Vestas, which plans to build a factory producing components for offshore wind farms
