For the love of cakes! Yem Cookie patisserie in Kraków

It’s a modest space, but with great character. Yem Cookie is located at 7 Zauchy Street in Kraków. Its interior was designed by NOWW Studio architects.

The premises were created in a new, emerging district on the outskirts of Kraków. The architects had full design freedom and were able to create a space based on a clear idea. Such an idea became an unusual vision for the bar, which, in an unambiguous and space-organising way, seems to flow off the countertop and spill onto the floor.

The effect was achieved using a mosaic structure made of small tiles in a terracotta shade. The result is a homogeneous ‘mass’ that occupies the central part of the patisserie like a wave.

The proposed colour scheme is consistent with Yem Cookie’s visual identity. Brick and burgundy tones were complemented by the warmth of natural wood, which appears in the openwork oak wall. The development made it possible to separate the sales area from the production area, where the small sweets are made. A small area with hockers was created right next to the shop window. Their shape is inspired by Danish design. You can sit here with a cake and coffee in your hand.

The delicate architecture of the interior is surrounded by rough walls covered with structural plaster and a found, reinforced concrete ceiling,” describe the authors of the project.

A long light line hangs above the bar, accentuating the horizontal layout of the counter. The whole is crowned by a colourful neon sign that encourages people to take a bite.
