A viewing platform on Lake Słupeckie. Designed by Paweł Grobelny

This is a new attraction for the region. The viewing platform on Lake Słupeckie was built to a design by Paweł Grobelny. It is a platform over two hundred metres long.

The platform is located at the end of a long platform and faces the vicinity of the Swedish Mound located in the middle of the lake. This is a distinctive ring that was previously only visible from the shore of the lake. The mound is the remains of a fortified settlement from the Lusatian culture period. In 2011, the ring-shaped mound was also entered in the register of historical monuments. Today, it is a breeding ground for many birds, so the viewing platform does not go inside the ring, but ends at a safe distance for the animals staying there.

After the circular piers, this is another element of the large development of the waterfront of Lake Słupeckie. However, it is the most important object for the whole development and the one most awaited by the residents of Słupca. This pier may also become a new landmark for Wielkopolska.

The viewing platform on Słupeckie Lake was designed in Paweł Grobelny’s characteristic manner. It is a minimalist structure with a streamlined form that emphasises usability. In spring and summer, the place is sure to fill up with tourists thirsting for eye-soothing views.

Paweł Grobelny has specialised in designing public spaces and spaces surrounding office, hotel and residential buildings for many years. His works include the Albertine garden surrounding the Royal Library in Brussels and the largest city park in Shanghai. Paweł Grobelny is also the author of a series of urban furniture for the Paris business district La Défense and the European Parliament district in Strasbourg.
